I'm an ML engineer at Google, where I delve into the intricacies of machine learning and contribute to innovative projects. I also like engaging in hackathons in the ML space to enhance my skills and stay at the forefront of technological advancements. Beyond my role at Google, I'm an enthusiastic basketball player and a voracious reader with a keen interest in books covering finance, politics, philosophy, and economics. This platform serves as a digital repository for my musings on topics ranging from tech, ML, team building to economics, politics and reflections on life.
CAREER
After completing my engineering degree, I joined Google as a Software Engineer in Ads. This is where I first started dabbling with and fell in love with using ML for building state of the art products, as I was part of the modeling team responsible for improving the quality of B2b Ads shown. I was responsible for building the first iteration of the B2b query intent model from scratch, which aims to annotate each incoming query as b2b/non-b2b.
In 2022, I decided to move to the silicon valley to learn from the best in the industry. I worked on personalizing Google Assistant, where I built user profiles using ML to use in effective speech biasing.
In June 2023, I moved back to Google Ads as an ML engineer, where I work on improving the quality of search Ads and strive to move the needle for bottom line metrics like revenue, using state of the art machine learning tools.
HOBBIES
I find myself in a phase of self-discovery, actively exploring various hobbies to find what resonates with me. My recent pursuits involve immersing myself in books on personal finance, ranging from accessible reads like "Barefoot Investor" to more intricate works such as "Common Sense on Mutual Funds." Additionally, I have a keen interest in the interdisciplinary realms of Politics, Philosophy, and Economics (PPE), currently engrossed in "The Third Pillar: How Markets and the State Leave the Community Behind" by Raghuram Rajan. Beyond the literary world, I derive immense joy from both playing and watching basketball (Go Warriors!), and I'm presently engaged in the process of learning to play the piano.
